Anjali Social Welfare and Development Society trains rural women and youth across Madhya Pradesh in fruit preservation, food processing and herbal products, so they can earn with dignity and start their own small enterprises.
Who we are
Founded in Sagar in 2007 and led by fruit preservation specialist Smt. Sunita Mishra, the Society runs practical, hands-on trainings from its own fully equipped food processing office.
Anjali Social Welfare and Development Society envisions supporting rural youth and women to obtain skills and meaningful, dignified employment. We also foster entrepreneurship, helping women to establish small and micro enterprises in food processing by providing training.
Our mission is to support rural youth and women in capacity building through skill development trainings.
Training programmes
One- and three-day programmes with practical sessions, certificates, and guidance on packaging and marketing.
Make squashes, cordials and sharbats from lemon, bael, ber, mango, watermelon and orange, and learn how to package and sell them.
Turn surplus tomatoes into sauce, ketchup, soup, chutney, cocktail and powder, with lessons on sterilisation, packing and marketing.
A one-day introduction to fruit preservation: aonla candy, aonla laddu, lemon squash and cordial, and bael sharbat.
Learn to make churnas from aonla, ashwagandha, bael, safed musli, brahmi, arjuna, tulsi and shatavari: plants that grow around Sagar.

Fruit Preservation Specialist
Smt. Sunita Mishra leads the Society and its training programmes. A state-level prize-winning fruit preservation specialist, she has trained more than 150 women in fruit preservation and fruit drinks, and has shared recipes and preservation methods on All India Radio and in national farm weeklies.

Shri Rajesh Kumar Mishra brings 38 years of experience in horticulture and food processing with the Government of Madhya Pradesh. He has edited books on food processing, given about 50 radio talks, and been honoured by the state government for environmental awareness work.
Our journey
2004
Smt. Sunita Mishra wins first prize for mango squash at the State Mango Show, Sagar.
2005
Food processing books edited by Shri R.K. Mishra are released at the State Level Krishi Mela, Garhakota. SHG-made products are shown at the India International Trade Fair, New Delhi.
2007
Anjali Social Welfare and Development Society is registered on 26 April 2007 (Reg. No. 06/09/01/05923/07).
2008
The Society's aonla barfi and aonla laddu are praised by Tamil Nadu's Youth Welfare Minister at Yuva Kriti, Chennai.
2009–10
Shri R.K. Mishra joins the campus beautification committee of Dr. Harisingh Gour University; the university later recognises the Society's work.
2020
The Society takes part in the Kisan Mela and Mahila Samuh Sammelan held on 9 March 2020.
2020–21
During the lockdown, Secretary Anjali ji distributes food packets to migrant workers walking home along the highway.

The programmes are designed for rural women, self-help groups (SHGs), women from BPL families and young people who want to earn through food processing. No prior experience is needed.
